An introduction to construction. Learn about types of buildings, construction tools and safety gear. Then follow directions to construct a building out of Legos. Kids will receive a construction hat and a participation certificate.

In a three-hour hands-on workshop led by Caroline Hamblen, program manager for Taliesin Preservation, learn how famed architect (and Wisconsin native) Frank Lloyd Wright took his inspiration from nature to create buildings. Discuss how you would build a better world through the designing of small neighborhoods and then use recycled materials to construct it. Funded by FABL.

TeacherSouls Minding the Thought Bully: A Mindfulness Workshop for Kids

Kids who practice mindfulness do better in school, have greater impulse control and problem solving abilities, and show more compassion. Learn what it is and how to use it to make a better world today. Parents and/or guardians are stronly encouraged to attend.
