Presented by Samantha Foster from the Welty Environmental Center.

Through demonstrations and activities, learn the importance of groundwater and the simple changes you can make in everyday habits to insure clean drinking water. Discover other ideas to protect our planet and learn how "green spaces" can improve schools and neighborhoods.

Boldt Blocks

An introduction to construction. Learn about types of buildings, construction tools and safety gear. Then follow directions to construct a building out of Legos. Kids will receive a construction hat and a participation certificate.

For kids ages 6 to 12. Limited to 30 participants. Check back soon for registration information.

FREE Meals for Kids

Free meals for kids ages 18 and younger. Sign up at the Youth Services Desk.

The House That Frank Built

Presented by Caroline Hamblen, Program Manager for Taliesin Preservation.

Learn how famed Wisconsin architect Frank Lloyd Wright took his inspiration from nature to create his buildings. Kids will build a better world by designing and constructing a small neighborhood using recycled materials.

With the Discovery Center Museum of Rockford.

Design and construct your own contraption to fly, spin, or stay put, then test it in our vertical wind column.

With Blackhawk Technical College and Janesville School District.

Participate in hands-on activities and learn some basic robotics. Find out how we use robotics in the world today and what training is available to work with them.

TeacherSouls Minding the Thought Bully: A Mindfulness Workshop for Kids

Presented by trained mindfulness expert Maggie Story. Kids who practice mindfulness do better in school, and have greater impulse control, problem solving abilities, and empathy. Learn how to use mindfulness to make a better world today. Parents/caregivers are stongly encouraged to attend.
